MUBC on Flickr
Dear members, please be informed that all photos from now on will be uploaded to Flickr. This move was made because it is much less cumbersome to upload large quantities of photo's via Flickr which is a dedicated and popular photo sharing website, compared to Blogspot.
This is the MUBC's Flickr URL: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mubc/
So what are you waiting for? Click here to see the photos and bookmark the page now! :) If you are already a Flickr member, don't forget to add MUBC as your contact.
Once in a while I will be updating this blog and maybe posting a few entries, but for photo's keep your eyes peeled on MUBC's Flickr page. If anybody has any inquiries, please do not hesitate to ask by emailing mubc_massey@yahoo.com or leaving a comment on this post.
That's it from me for now. Wishing everyone all the very best for the upcoming final exams and Eid Mubarak to all Muslims. Cheers!

Flying for shuttle..Brunei/Mauritous team

Saturday afternoon May 12, all 6 badminton courts at Massey Recreation sports hall PN were centre stage for the first International Badminton teams Championship tournament.
For more than 5 hours, international students from 12 different countries were involved in fierce competition for honours in their respective grades.
Top favourite badminton team Malaysia, was well represented in grade 2 and proven to be the team to be reckoned with. So it was “no surprise” that at the end of the day team Malaysia-2 lifted the trophies in its respective round robin grades. Brunei and Mauritius team comes the second.
This dominance was certainly not without fierce resistance from other high skilled team performance such as: India, Brunei, Philippines, Germany, Sri Lanka New Zealand-2 and China-2.
In the top Grade-1 event, the competition was even closer with one mixed game between team China-1 versus team Indonesia going the full length of maximum score 30-29 in favour of China.
But at the end of the day it was the team combination of Indonesia/Sri Lanka that overcame their nerves and carried away the trophy from China-1, Malaysia-1 and New Zealand.
Team members at the end of the day have expressed their view in favour for the continuation of such an event perhaps on an annual basis.

Uni Games 2007 in Christ Church

In the men’s competition, Victoria and Massey University were the gold medal contenders in final.
The final score was tied at 3-3 but after a count back on points, Victoria University was the champion. But we were only 3 points left behind and so we are on the 2nd placing.
Competition manager Louise Cunningham says there has been some good competition in the tournament. “Victoria, Massey and Waikato all seemed very close in ability to me,” she says.
Our players are Leck Tham, Dylan, James C and Earl.
Badminton successfully contribute 9 points for the overall university points.
2 of our players , Leck Tham and Dylan Roberts are in the list of badminton tournament team for unigames this year.

New Badminton Hall in Arena Manawatu
A number of members had a good hit at the newly laid timber floor (costing $1million for all 3 Arena Halls) B&M Centre on 1st March. The lighter tone floor boards from Denmark seems to brighten up the hall plus the resilience sporting characteristics. Here attached some photos taken earlier during Kooi site inspections.
